Marketing Assistant

Intro.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and diligent marketing assistant based in Edinburgh to join one of the most exciting start-ups in the dating space.

This is an incredible opportunity to be part of the early team (working directly with the founders) and get hands-on experience launching and growing an industry-changing app.

Edinburgh is the first big city we are launching in and you can be a part of that!

The role is initially a part-time contract (paid) with the opportunity to go full-time post-launch if we are successful.

About us.

tbc is the dating app that actually arranges dates.

According to the New York Times, 80% of people feel emotionally burn out or fatigued by their experience with online dating. Endless swiping, matching and chatting makes dating feel like a second job - not the enjoyable, fun experience it should be.

We’re here to change that. We arrange great dates in minutes.

We already have tested the app in London where we had some great customer reviews and initial traction, leading us to successfully close out our first funding round!

All this means we are now ready to launch in our first city - Edinburgh - and are looking for a marketing superstar to help us.

You can find out more about the app here.

Who you are.

  • Based in or around Edinburgh and willing to travel into the city where necessary - this is a hybrid role that will require ‘on the ground’ activity as we launch
  • A background and/or strong interest in marketing, especially in promotional marketing
  • Experience in social media engagement, content creation and editing (especially reels and video content)
  • Great organisation skills and action-orientated - ‘can-do’ attitude to make the launch a success
  • A team-player with strong communication skills and ability to work independently when needed
  • Enthusiastic about the dating space and believes in our mission to make dating fun again - not the draining and time-wasting experience it often is

Preferable additional skills

  • Experience in performance marketing and measuring and tracking marketing propositions
  • Experience answering customer support queries

What you’ll be doing.

  • On the ground organisation, support and liaison for promoting the tbc app - e.g. working with the CMO to showcase our brand in venues, helping organise sponsored event nights, handing out tbc branded materials
  • Helping create, edit and schedule social media assets, especially reels and video content from our launch
  • Responding to social media comments and DMs as well as general social media engagement
  • Responding to customer queries. Helping with customer support and report monitoring from the app
  • Helping track, measure and assess the performance of key marketing activities
  • Providing regular updates on progress and flagging any concerns or blockers where needed

This role is a paid role (part-time) with an annualised salary up to £22,500 and working hours that would require ~15 hours/week commitment.

Ultimately, we are looking for someone who is hands on and willing to get stuck in. Even if you don’t meet every single criteria above, if you feel this is a role for you - reach out.

We look forward to hearing from you!
